The Sibanye Heritage Rangers Adventure Tours offers a fully immersive, unyielding African adventure experience covering some of the most interesting and engaging parts of South Africa with opportunity to explore into Mozambique.
This Adventure also allows you to engage with and support the efforts being made by our rangers in the preservation of our environment and society.
This compact 3 week volunteering and adventure tour will allow you to soak up the vibrant scenery that South Africa Offers. Visit our townships, game parks and rural coast line with plentiful adventure trails to follow.
Note – this tour includes all accommodation, most meals and transport. It however does not include flights.
Our tour begins with a visit to our Province of the Rising Sun – Mpumalanga. Here we will set up base camp at our facility in Watervalboven.
There is plenty to do from our camp alone. Hiking trails through the rugged mountains around Rocky’s drift Nature reserve, square off some shouting matches with the mountain baboons, or experience some of the best rock climbing sites in the Southern Hemisphere. But this is just in camp.
We will venture out and tour the most amazing landscape that Mpumalanga has to offer, The Blyde River Canyon, The Bourckes Luck Potholes, the waterfalls around Sabie and of course the amazing Kruger National Park.
An all inclusive experience that will leave you thirsty for more.
Our second week takes us deep into Northern KwaZulu Natal on the border with Mozambique. Here you will enjoy the rough and rugged terrain, fauna and flora of the bushveldt. You will be accommodated at our rangers camp at Bekhula as well as t Usutho Gorge. Walking game trails through the bush, visits to the butterfly dome as well as wonderful camping will allow you to fall asleep to the sounds of the wild underneath big African skies.
We will visit the Tembe Elephant Park as well as Ndumo Nature reserves in this area with a diversion to the Kosi Bay lakes where you can view the hippos and crocodiles in the most amazing sub-tropical wetlands.
Special Trips to Mozambique – Ponta do Ouro can also be arranged where you can dive with the dolphins and many many more adventures. (These will incur additional costs)
From this bushveldt adventure we will move directly to Durban where a short 2 day stop over will allow you to enjoy the wonders that the city has to offer for a bit of R & R in the big lights.
This fun filled week will see you begin your tour of the amazing Transkei area of the Eastern Cape at Tsitsa Falls, lots of history, cave paintings and of course an amazing waterfall with Zip line to churn up your adventurous juices will get this week well started.
Our next stop will be the small coastal town of Port St Johns for a short overnight stay and visit to the sites that are offered in the area.
